Airmen from the 38th, 41st and 71st Rescue Squadrons spoke with Air Rescue Association members, who were once a part of the rescue community, during the HH-60W Jolly Green II Initial Operational Capability ceremony, Sept. 9, 2022 at Moody Air Force Base, Georgia. The next phase of U.S. Air Force Combat Search and Rescue helicopters will be led by the 23rd Maintenance Group and 347th Rescue Group – who are charged with ensuring the helicopter is combat ready and fully integrated in rescue operations with the HC-130J Combat King II aircraft. The ceremony displayed the platform’s operational capabilities and signifies that the HH-60W has met the criteria for IOC and awaits declaration.
