Schiess, commander Combined Force Space Component Command, vice commander Space Operations Command, addresses current and future space operations at Air Force Association’s 2022 Air, Space, & Cyber Conference in National Harbor, Maryland, September 19, 2022. Shiess provided an in-depth update on the evolving structure and mission of SpOC as the first field command established within the U.S. Space Force. This year, SpOC activated Space Delta 18, National Space Intelligence Center, and for the first time, all military SATCOM capabilities have been unified under Space Delta 8.
