Vice Adm. Yancy Lindsey, Commander, Navy Installations Command, and Thomas Brady, Director, Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) cut a ceremonial ribbon to open the newly constructed and partially renovated E.J. King Middle High School buildings as Capt. Rear Adm. Carl Lahti, Commander, Navy Region Japan/Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Japan, David Adams, Commander, Fleet Activities Sasebo (CFAS), Lois Rapp, DoDEA Pacific director, Jackie Ferguson, Pacific East District superintendent, Lorenzo Brown, principal at E.J. King Middle High School, and others look on at CFAS Sept. 21, 2022. Lindsey and Lahti visited CFAS to tour its facilities, meet with personnel assigned to area commands, and increase their familiarity with CFAS’ mission and relationships with host nation counterparts. For 75 years, CFAS has provided, maintained, and operated base facilities and services to empower forward-deployed U.S. and Allied Forces while providing superior support to their families and the community.
