U.S. Army National Guard Staff Sgt. Jeremy Westover, survey team chief with the Vermont National Guard's 15th Civil Support Team (CST), explains the settings on a hand-held chemical detector. The CST Soldiers and Airman trained for two weeks with the North Macedonian Soldiers on detecting and identifying chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear threats, in addition to emergency management. Vermont and North Macedonia have been partners for 30 years in the U.S. Department of Defense’s State Partnership Program, managed by the National Guard Bureau.
