Los Angeles Air Force Base held a remembrance event for National POW/MIA Recognition Day that began on Sept. 15 and ended on Sept. 16 with a 54 mile torch run and wreath laying ceremony. The torch lighting and run began at Terminal Island, California, and ended at the base, El Segundo. Various bases and community organizations carried the torch while running relay legs.
The Los Angeles Air Force Base honor guard presented the colors for the opening ceremony on Sept. 16, 2022. Col. Mia Walsh, Commander of Space Base Delta 3, hands the “Most Miles Completed” trophy to volunteers and the top runners.
