The Florida Army National Guard, 1-111 Aviation Regiment, prepares to airlift vehicles and additional assets onto Pine Island and Sanibel Island, Florida in the aftermath of Hurricane Ian to assist their fellow Floridians in recovery efforts, Oct. 3, 2022. Airlifting is the most effective means to access the islands due to the destruction and impassable conditions of bridges that connected to the main land.
