Col. Eric Leckel, commander of the Wisconsin Army National Guard’s 157th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade, and Command Sgt. Maj. Duane Weyer, the brigade’s senior enlisted leader, case the brigade flag during a formal sendoff ceremony Sept. 30 at the Miller High Life Theater in downtown Milwaukee. Encasing the brigade flag symbolizes that the unit is leaving the authority of the state as it deploys in support of Operation Enduring Freedom – Horn of Africa. While the brigade’s headquarters company and its 357th Signal Company are deploying, the remainder of the brigade will remain in Wisconsin. Wisconsin Department of Military Affairs photo by Vaughn R.
