SASEBO, Japan (August 12, 2022) – A diver assigned to Task Unit 75.5.7 surface swims as he unbolts a cut-off platform section for removal. Task Unit 75.5.7 has been tasked with recovering and removing the sunken Pier 1006 from Juliet Basin, a large 7th Fleet landing area that is used to accommodate amphibious ships, port operations craft, and security vessels. Task Force 75 is 7th Fleet's primary expeditionary task force and is responsible for the planning and execution of maritime security operations, explosive ordnance disposal, diving, engineering and construction, and underwater construction throughout the Indo-Pacific region.
