Janet Finlayson, Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) scientific recovery expert (SRE), directs an excavator’s dig path during a Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) recovery mission in Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Sept. 24, 2022. SRE’s use standard field archaeology methods to direct recovery operations and lead all efforts to properly locate and identify possible remains.
