SAVANNAH, Ga. – Operations personnel from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Savannah District, launched two hydrographic survey vessels from the Engineer’s Depot on Hutchinson Island into the Savannah Harbor, Georgia on Oct. 1, 2022. At the request of the U.S. Coast Guard, the vessels were deployed to Brunswick Harbor to survey the entrance channel in response to Hurricane Ian. The survey teams will collect information that will be used by the Coast Guard and Brunswick harbor pilots to ensure safe passage and navigation. USACE photo by Mel Orr.
