The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District, stood up an emergency control center for “Operation Blue Roof,” a Federal Emergency Management Agency program administered by USACE that provides temporary roof coverage for Florida homeowners affected by Hurricane Ian. Prior to activating the center to receive public calls, volunteers undergo extensive training and practice calls before fielding questions and applications from affected Florida residents.
