Nicole Rhoton, historian at the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA), attempts to clean a piece of aircraft wreckage to find serial numbers to correlate the site for a future recovery team during an investigation mission at Ulingan, Bogia District, Madang Province, Papua New Guinea, Sept. 28, 2022. The investigation team visited multiple areas across the coastal Madang Province in hopes of recovering missing U.S. service members lost during World War II.
