A Marine from Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 323, Marine Aircraft Group 11, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, is welcomed home by family and friends on Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Oct. 9, 2022. VMFA-323 flew their F/A-18C Hornets in support of the NATO Air Shielding mission in the U.S. European Command area of operations. The mission is designed to increase the air and missile defense posture along the Eastern flank of the Alliance and provides NATO an enhanced posture with the flexibility to orient toward any emerging threat.
