Carl Lahti, Commander, U.S. Naval Forces, Japan / Commander, Navy Region Japan (CNFJ/CNRJ), speaks as the guest of honor of the Navy Ball held at Club Alliance onboard Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka (CFAY) in celebration of the Navy's 247th Birthday. The theme of the 247th Navy Birthday is "On Watch - 24/7 for 247 Years," which highlights the U.S. Navy's enduring ability to remain fully ready to respond to and effectively deter emergent threats. For more than 75 years, CFAY has provided, maintained, and operated base facilities and services in support of the U.S. 7th Fleet's forward deployed naval forces, tenant commands, and thousands of military and civilian personnel and their families.
