YOKOSUKA, Japan (Oct 16, 2022) Japanese community members are greeted by Yoko-Pon, the official mascot of Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka (CFAY), while waiting to board the U.S. 7th Fleet’s command ship USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19) onboard CFAY. For the first time in three years, CFAY held the open base event to highlight the friendship between the local Japanese community and U.S. Navy. For more than 75 years, CFAY has provided, maintained, and operated base facilities and services in support of the U.S. 7th Fleet's forward-deployed naval forces, tenant commands, and thousands of military and civilian personnel and their families.
