Hurricane Ian, was a destructive category 4 storm; it was the deadliest storm to strike the state of Florida since 1935. Mr. Carl Tucker sits with his great-grandson Junior. Mr. Tucker and his wife suffered substantial damage to their home by 155mph winds and significant damage to their roof. Through Operation Blue Roof, Mr. Tucker received a temporary roof for his home. Operation Blue Roof is a priority mission managed by USACE for FEMA. The mission's purpose is to provide homeowners and permanently occupied rental properties in disaster areas with fiber-reinforced sheeting to cover their damaged roofs until arrangements can be made for permanent repairs.
