U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. Chance Cunningham, 557th Expeditionary Red Horse Squadron pavements and heavy equipment construction craftsman, and his civil engineer team worked around the clock to construct the South runway, culminating in a ribbon cutting ceremony for the reopening of the runway at Ali Al Salem Air Base, Kuwait, October 13, 2022. This construction project was vital to increasing mission capabilities for the 386th Air Expeditionary Wing and its mission partners. Cunningham and his team even found opportunities for other civil engineer teams to familiarize themselves with paving equipment, expanding their capabilities for future operations.
