REYNOSA, Mexico (Oct. 17, 2022) Mexican Secretariat of National Defense (SEDENA) May. (Major) Jorge Geronimo, the operations chief assigned to the 8th Military Zone, gives an operational-overview brief to U.S. Soldiers, assigned to Joint Task Force Civil Support, and SEDENA military personnel as part of the integration phase during exercise Fuerzas Amigas 2022 on Campo Militar Reynosa, Mexico Oct. 17, 2022. Exercise FA22 is a binational disaster-response exercise between the U.S. and Mexican militaries Oct. 17-21, along the U.S.-Mexican border. The purpose of this annual exercise is to improve readiness and strengthen the two nations’ cooperative relationship. U.S. Army North, through Joint Task Force Civil Support will serve as the command-and-control element directing U.S. troops conducting a natural disaster response exercise alongside Mexican military forces.
