WASHINGTON NAVY YARD (Oct. 19, 2022) Patrick C. Burns, Deputy Director of Naval History and Heritage Command, speaks at the National Museum of the U.S. Navy during a panel discussion commemorating Filipino American History Month. The panel discussion included the family of Fireman 2nd Class Telesforo de la Cruze Trinidad, the only Filipino in the U.S. Navy to receive the Medal of Honor. In May 2022, Secretary of the Navy, Carlos Del Toro, announced that a future Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer will be named in honor of Trinidad’s bravery and actions.
