Naval Surface Warfare Center, Philadelphia Division Mechanical Engineer Max Weissman operates a Boston Dynamics Spot inspection robot aboard the Self Defense Test Ship while underway during the Repair Technology Exercise, known as REPTX, offshore from Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division (NSWC PHD) on Aug. 29. Weissman was testing the robot’s ability to walk and stabilize itself as the ship pitched back and forth amid rough seas. The test ship is an asset of NSWC PHD.
