The chief petty officer cover is presented during the chief petty officer (CPO) pinning ceremony for Sailors from the first-in-class aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78), Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 8, Destroyer Squadron Two and Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 12, Oct. 21, 2022. Fifty six Sailors were pinned during the CPO pinning ceremony held in the hangar bay, Oct. 21, 2022. The Gerald R. Ford Carrier Strike Group (GRFCSG) is deployed in the Atlantic Ocean, conducting training and operations alongside NATO Allies and partners to enhance integration for future operations and demonstrate the U.S. Navy’s commitment to a peaceful, stable and conflict-free Atlantic region.
