(Fort Benning, Ga) – U.S. Army Sniper Course students participate in a ghillie weathering exercise, known as the “Ghillie Wash,” July 29, 2022, at Fort Benning. The event is designed to test the strength and durability of a sniper student's ghillie suit and to weather them for future environments they may encounter. Sniper students use sand, water and mud, all in an effort to perfect one of their most important tools: their camouflage. (U.S. Army photo by Patrick A.
