USS Harpers Ferry (LSD 49) enters the mouth of the port at Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division recently for a Combat Systems Assessment Team event. Homeported in San Diego, LSD 49 is capable of launching and transporting amphibious craft, vehicles, including helicopters, with their crews and personnel for amphibious assault operations.
