    Police Officer Andrew Schwartz and Conservation Law Enforcement Officer Jesse Haney with the Police Department, and Aaron Demarte, public safety dispatcher with the Fort McCoy Directorate of Emergency Services (DES) 911 Communications/Security Center, discuss operations Oct. 5, 2022, in the center at Fort McCoy, Wis. The center, also referred to as DES Dispatch Center at the installation, maintains its coverage and support 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Dispatchers use a variety of emergency communications and electronic equipment to complete their duties. This includes equipment that is commonly used by police, fire, ambulance, rescue, or hazardous materials units. Dispatchers can also provide emergency medical dispatching assistance to callers with medical emergencies. Demarte is a native of Wakefield, Mich. (U.S. Army Photo by Scott T.
