U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Will Poindexter and Tech. Sgt. Jorge Garcia-Hernandez, both loadmasters with the 7th Airlift Squadron, pull the long anchor cable on a C-17 Globemaster III during installation training at Exercise RED FLAG-Alaska 23-1 at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, Oct. 19, 2022. This cable is used to attach static lines for personnel and container delivery system airdrops. Team McChord Airmen participated in Exercise RED FLAG-Alaska 23-1 as part of Exercise Rainier War 22B. Exercise Rainier War is a full-scale readiness exercise with an Air Force Force Generation prioritization; demonstrating the ability to generate, employ and sustain a combat force during a rigorous wartime scenario.
