Maj. Gen. Jeff Broadwater, the V Corps Deputy Commanding General, is welcomed by Margy Poorman, president of the Hardin County Chamber of Commerce, as the guest speaker during a Hardin County Chamber of Commerce luncheon held Nov. 9, 2022, at Pritchard Community Center in Elizabethtown. The DCG discussed the Corps mission in Eastern Europe, community partnership endeavors and the historic backdrop of Veterans Day with around 300 area commercial, civic and
governmental leaders. The Kentucky native thanked community leaders for
their support of current and former military personnel and families, and
paid tribute to veterans across services two days ahead of Veterans Day.
The appreciative audience of community leaders received the DCG's remarks
enthusiastically. The "Victory Corps," which oversees operations in Eastern
Europe, was established during World War I. The roots of Veterans Day lay
in commemorations of the armistice that ended fighting in the "Great War." (U.S. Army photo by Sgt. Maj. Michael Pintagro)
