NEW YORK -- 11/10/22 -- U.S. Navy Capt. Tyler Heidi, right, and Cmdr. Samuel Hoard lead the formation from Navy Reserve Center New York City in the Veterans Day Parade. Heidi is the current Commanding Officer and Hoard is her predecessor.
This week, U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Lawrence O. Lawson (WPC-1120) and USS Arlington (LPD-24), a San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship, are visiting New York for Veterans Week. Sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsmen are participating in a variety of events in and around the city to honor the service and sacrifice of the nation’s veterans. Events include the annual NYC Veterans Day Parade, a wreath laying ceremony, participating in the New York Giants Salute to Service game, volunteering at the NY State Veterans Home in Queens and observations of Marine Corps Birthday around the city.
