Men lift an empty propane tank onto a dump truck as other villagers gather around to turn in and collect propane vouchers on the street in the village of Fahama, Iraq, Jan. 27. Multi-National Division – Baghdad Soldiers with Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Combined Arms Battalion, 68th Armor Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, escorted the truck from the villages of Fahama and Gumayrah to the town of Boob Al Sham to exchange for full tanks. Each household is given vouchers for three propane tanks per month, but the residents are hesitant to travel to the propane station in the nearby town due to past hostilities in the area. The propane allows the villagers to cook more cleanly and conveniently inside their homes rather than by building wood fires outdoors.
