As part of the U.S. Medical Center of Excellence’s Veterans Day Presentation, at the Torah Academy of San Antonio, students met a military working dog in-training named “EEphy” courtesy of Lora Harrist from the Military Working Dog Foster Volunteer program. During the one-hour hands-on presentation, the students, ranging from kindergarten to 7th grade also got to experience what it is like to have a job in the Army Veterinary Corps like examining kosher Army Meals-Ready-to-Eat using methods similar to the Corps’ food inspectors and even learned how to dress a notional wound on the Diesel Canine Simulator.
