221110-N-XB010-1005 EAST CHINA SEA (Nov. 10, 2022) – Aviation Boatswain’s Mate, Fueling, 2nd Class Tameca McKenzie, from Montego Bay, Jamaica, directs a AH-1Z Cobra helicopter to take off from the forward-deployed amphibious transport dock ship USS New Orleans’ (LPD 18) flight deck while in the South China Sea during Keen Sword 23. Keen Sword is a joint, bilateral, biennial field-training exercise involving U.S. military and Japan Self-Defense Force personnel, designed to increase combat readiness and interoperability and strengthen the ironclad Japan-U.S. alliance.
