ANNAPOLIS, Md. (Nov. 17, 2022) Class of 2023 midshipmen from the 5th Company receive their service assignment at the U.S. Naval Academy. Upon graduation and commissioning in May, 75 percent will commission as U.S. Navy ensigns and 25 percent will commission as U.S. Marine Corps second lieutenants. As the undergraduate college of our country's naval service, the Naval Academy prepares young men and women to become professional officers of competence, character, and compassion in the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps.
