YOKOSUKA, Japan (Nov. 18, 2022) – Japan Maritime Self Defense Force Destroyer, JS Onami (DD-111) sits pierside on the newly-completed Pier 5 onboard Commander Fleet Activities Yokosuka (CFAY). A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on the pier and marked the completion of a two-year project that upgraded Pier 5 and CFAY’s ability to provide service to the fleet. For more than 75 years, CFAY has provided, maintained, and operated base facilities and services in support of the U.S. 7th Fleet's forward-deployed naval forces, tenant commands, and thousands of military and civilian personnel and their families.
