Soldiers assigned to the 4th Infantry Division use their guideons to lead Soldiers through obstacles during the “Battle of Dak To” remembrance event at Fort Carson, Colo., Nov. 23, 2022.
On Nov. 23, during the battle for Hill 875, the 4th Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment from the north slope coordinated a final assault on the hilltop with the 1st Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Division, charging up the south slope. Neither battalion faced heavy resistance as the North Vietnamese Army had decamped during the night.
