U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM) Area of Operations, (November 24, 2022) – Sailors and Marines assigned to Task Force 51/5th Marine Expeditionary Brigade (TF 51/5), complete a six-mile hike as part of the Fleet Marine Force (FMF) warfare insignia program, Nov. 24. The FMF warfare insignia program provides credit and recognition for Sailors assigned to perform duties in support of U.S. Marine Corps missions. The six-mile hike is one of many requirements Sailors must finish in order to successfully pass the FMF program and be awarded an FMF warfare insignia. TF 51/5 responds to crises and contingencies; coordinates, plans, and executes operations; conducts theater security cooperation; and advances emerging Naval concepts at sea, from the sea, and ashore in order to support CENTCOM, 5th Fleet, and Marine Corps Forces Central Command theater objectives.
