U.S. service members, veterans and local community members gathered to honor fallen service members by placing 13,000 wreaths on gravestones during the Wreaths for Vets wreath-laying ceremony at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery on Nov. 26, 2022. The Friends of the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, which organizes the Wreaths for Vets program every year, works with hundreds of volunteers to prepare, and lay wreaths as part of a nationwide effort to remember the fallen by placing a wreath on each veteran’s grave for the holidays. The Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery is one of 3,400 locations across the United States, to take part in Wreaths for Vets. (U.S. Army photo by Sgt. 1st Class Angela Holtby)
