MEDITERRANEAN SEA (Nov. 30, 2022) Gas Turbine Systems Technician (Mechanical) 3rd Class Aasim Smith holds an aqueous film forming foam (AFFF) hose and fights a simulated fire in the engine room of the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Roosevelt (DDG 80) during a general quarters drill, Nov. 30, 2022. Roosevelt, currently attached to the Charles de Gaulle Carrier Strike Group, is on a scheduled deployment in the U.S. Naval Forces Europe area of operations, employed by U.S. Sixth Fleet to defend U.S., allied and partner interests.
