Spc. Alison Weisz, a marksmanship instructor/competitive shooter with the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit out of Fort Benning, Georgia, won the Gold Medal for Team USA in Women’s 10m Air Rifle at the International Shooting Sports Federation’s Rifle and Pistol World Championships started in Cairo, Egypt Oct. 12 - 28. This Gold Medal win by the Belgrade, Montana native earned the United States an Olympic Quota for the 2024 Games in Paris. This big win also provided her with the honor of being named the Women's 10m Air Rifle World Champion, something no other American woman has done since 1979, according to NBC sports.
