SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic (Dec. 1, 2022) Lt. Chris Cerovsky, a general surgery resident, assigned to the hospital ship USNS Comfort (T-AH 20), performs a hernia surgical procedure in an operating room aboard USNS Comfort in in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, Dec. 1, 2022. The patient suffered complications with this issue for five years, limiting mobility and ability to perform work as a mechanic. Comfort is deployed to U.S. 4th Fleet in support of Continuing Promise 2022, a humanitarian assistance and goodwill mission conducting direct medical care, expeditionary veterinary care, and subject matter expert exchanges with five partner nations in the Caribbean, Central and South America.
