U.S. Marines with Marine Attack Squadron (VMA) 542 fly three AV-8B Harrier II jets over Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina, Dec. 1, 2022. In accordance with Force Design 2030, VMA-542 transitioned from the AV-8B Harrier II jet to the F-35B Lightning II fighter jet and redesignated as a Marine fighter-attack squadron.
