NORFOLK, Va. (Dec. 4, 2022) - U.S. Navy Cmdr. Matthew Plant, left, executive officer of the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship USS Arlington (LPD 24), gives the Honorable Antti Kaikkonen, center, Finnish Minister of Defense, and U.S. Navy Rear Adm. Brian Davies, deputy commander, U.S. 2nd Fleet a tour of Arlington’s 9/11 tribute room at Naval Station Norfolk, Virginia, Dec. 4, 2022. During a recent deployment, Arlington Sailors and embarked 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) Marines conducted interoperability training with Finnish Armed Forces in Finland and the Baltic Sea. U.S. 2nd Fleet employs maritime forces ready to fight across multiple domains in the Atlantic and Arctic in order to ensure access, deter aggression and defend U.S., allied and partner interests.
