A Korean War coffin lies next to a headstone of an unknown during a disinterment ceremony at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Hawaii, Dec. 5, 2022. The ceremony was part of DPAA’s efforts to disinter the remains of unknown service members lost during WWII and the Korean War. This ceremony marked the completion of phase four out of seven disinterment phases from the Korean War Disinterment Project. DPAA’s mission is to achieve the fullest possible accounting for missing and unaccounted-for U.S. personnel to their families and the nation. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Ariel Owings)
