    NEW YORK — Sailors from Fleet Weather Center - Norfolk met former Aerographer’s mate Second Class Lucille Posner who served in the Navy during World War Two.
    She attended boot camp in the old Hunter College Campus (which is now Bronx Community College, both part of the City University of New York) in August of 1943. While on duty, she took meteorological readings and worked closely with the air tower from January until April 1944.

    Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command directs and oversees more than 2,500 globally distributed military and civilian personnel who collect, process and exploit environmental information to assist Fleet and Joint Commanders in all warfare areas to make better decisions faster than the adversary, May 26, 2022.
