U.S. and Royal Australian Air Force aircraft converge in a bilateral formation December 8, 2022, near the coast of Oahu, Hawaii, during exercise PACIFIC EDGE 23. The Formation included F-35 Lightning IIs from the U.S. Air Force’s 65th Aggressor Squadron, the U.S. Marine Corps Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 314, the Royal Australian Air Force No. 3 Squadron, a RAAF E-7A Wedgetail from No. 2 Squadron, a USAF F-16 Fighting Falcon from the 422nd Test and Evaluation Squadron, and a USAF F-22 Raptor from the 199th and 19th Fighter Squadrons. PACIFIC EDGE is held to provide realistic combat training between the two countries’ aircraft, contributing to mission readiness and regional stability throughout the free and open Indo-Pacific.
