Variants of F-35 Lightning IIs from the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Air Force and Royal Australian Air Force are stagged at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, Dec. 9, 2022, upon the closure of exercise PACIFIC EDGE 23. This iteration of the exercise marked the largest participation of fifth-generation aircraft in an event hosted by the Hawaii Air National Guard’s 154th Wing. The F-35 participants are from the U.S. Air Force’s 65th Aggressor Squadron, the U.S. Marine Corps Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 314, the Royal Australian Air Force No. 3 Squadron and the U.S. Navy Air Test and Evaluation Squadron Nine (VX-9).
