U.S. Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Maurice L. Williams, command chief, Air National Guard, recognized the contributions of the 13 Georgia Air National Guardsmen who served on the 165th Airlift Wing (AW) Fatality Search and Recovery Team (FSERT) after Hurricane Ian during an all-call at the 165th Airlift Wing, in Savannah, Georgia, Dec. 11, 2022. The 165 AW FSERT played a vital role in assisting local first responders in the search and recovery of citizens following Hurricane Ian, a category 4 hurricane which swept through Florida September 23, 2022 .
