Wildlife and recreation go hand and hand, and there is no shortage of that along the Long Tom River basin in the Willamette Valley, Ore. A tributary of the Willamette River, the Long Tom water level is controlled starting from Fern Ridge Dam and works its way North through the valley. There are many drop structures along the way to help mitigate flood risk and allow local agriculture a safe way to water their crops.
