PACIFIC OCEAN (Nov. 12, 2022) – U.S. Marine Corps pilots with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 362 (Rein.) fly alongside the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) as they sail in a formation, Nov. 12, 2022. The ability to operate seamlessly and simultaneously on the sea, ashore, and in the air represents the unique value of the amphibious capability provided by the Navy-Marine Corps team. The 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit is embarked with the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, comprised of amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8) and amphibious transport docks USS Anchorage (LPD 23) and USS John P.
