221219-N-YV347-1132 PACIFIC OCEAN (Dec. 19, 2022) U.S. Navy Damage Controlman 3rd Class Marcus Threadcraft, from Atlanta, and U.S. Navy Damage Controlman Fireman Cristian Vazquez, from San Antonio, simulate the rescue of the pilot of an MH-60R Seahawk helicopter assigned to the "Battle Cats" of Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 73 during an aviation firefighting drill on the flight deck of the Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Bunker Hill (CG 52). Bunker Hill, part of the Nimitz Carrier Strike Group, is currently underway in 7th Fleet conducting routine operations. 7th Fleet is the U.S. Navy ‘s largest forward-deployed numbered fleet, and routinely interacts and operates with 35 maritime nations in preserving a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
