JAVA SEA (Dec. 30, 2022) – Boatswain’s Mate Seaman Robert Albertin stands a lee helmsman watch in the bridge aboard amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8), Dec. 30, 2022. Boatswain’s Mates stand watches, repair maintain and stow equipment, assist as a search and rescue swimmer, and operate small boats, tugs and barges. The Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, comprised of amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8) and amphibious transport docks USS Anchorage (LPD 23) and USS John P.
