Ensign Alexys Jenson, crewmember of the Coast Guard Cutter Cypress, takes control of the throttle while underway off the coast of Kodiak, Alaska, Jan. 11, 2023. Before being re-hompoted in Kodiak, the Cypress was stationed in Mobile, Alabama, and subsequently re-homeported to Pensacola, Florida, as the “Strong Arm of the Gulf,” servicing aids to navigation along 900 miles of coastline, stretching from Apalachicola, Florida, to the border of Mexico.
